Does Pin Shift change my IP address?
No. Pin Shift changes reported location coordinates on Android. Use your existing VPN to change your public IP address. Open Settings in Pin Shift to see VPN status and open Android VPN settings. Choose a server in the same region as your saved place. Pin Shift cannot verify the VPN server country or guarantee that every app will accept simulated coordinates.
Why does Android ask for Developer options?
Android only allows a selected mock location app to provide simulated coordinates. Pin Shift checks whether Developer options are enabled, opens the relevant system screen, and tells you what to select.
Can Pin Shift turn on Developer options for me?
No. Android protects this setting, so you must tap the Build number and choose the mock location app yourself. Pin Shift guides the steps and checks the result when you return.
Why does Start selected place not work in Expo Go?
Location simulation uses a native Android service that Expo Go does not include. Install the signed Pin Shift APK from the Download page.
Can I test it on my iPhone without paid membership?
Once the IPA is available, you can sign it with your own free Apple ID using Sideloadly on Windows or macOS. The signature expires after seven days and needs refreshing. The iPhone guide shows the requirements and current download status.
What works on iPhone?
The iPhone version can save named places, search, use your current position, and view selected places. Apple does not expose a system-wide mock location feature to ordinary iPhone apps.
Where are my places stored?
Your saved places are stored locally on your device. Pin Shift does not require an account.
How do I stop location simulation?
Tap Stop simulation in Pin Shift or use Stop in the persistent Android notification.
